Description

Tender, slow-cooked drumsticks glazed with a rich smoky BBQ sauce. Perfect for family dinners or festive gatherings, this recipe balances sweet, tangy, and smoky flavors with simple techniques. Ideal for backyard cookouts or weeknight meals.

Ingredients

Scale

4 large chicken drumsticks
2 tablespoons paprika (smoked or regular)
2 cups BBQ sauce (homemade or store-bought, no-sugar-added optional)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon mustard
2 tablespoons olive oil (or avocado oil)
1 teaspoon salt
Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
Clean and pat dry chicken drumsticks
In a bowl, mix paprika, salt, and black pepper. Rub onto drumsticks
Drizzle olive oil and toss to coat
Place drumsticks in a baking dish in a single layer
Bake for 40 minutes, flipping halfway. During baking, prepare BBQ sauce
Brush thick layer of BBQ sauce onto drumsticks. Bake for 20 minutes more until glazed and caramelized

Notes

Smoked paprika enhances flavor
Avocado oil has higher smoke point
Garlic powder can replace fresh garlic as a 1:1 substitute
Store leftover drumsticks in an airtight container for up to 3 days
