Description
Juicy grilled chicken skewers with a bold, smoky-hot glaze of Dijon mustard, hot honey, and garlic. A perfect summer BBQ dish with a balance of tangy, spicy, and sweet flavors for a restaurant-quality meal.
Ingredients
1.5 lbs chicken breasts, cubed into 1-inch pieces
1/3 cup Dijon mustard (whole-grain preferred for texture)
3 tbsp hot honey (made by mixing honey with chili flakes)
4 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
2 tbsp olive oil (avocado oil preferred)
1 tsp salt, preferably sea salt
Instructions
Whisk mustard, hot honey, garlic, and olive oil until smooth.
Add cubed chicken to the bowl, toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 15–30 minutes.
Thread marinated chicken onto soaked wooden skewers, leaving 1/4-inch space between pieces.
Preheat grill to 400°F. Brush oil on grates and grill skewers 6–8 minutes per side, basting frequently.
Remove when chicken reaches 165°F. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Marinate for no more than 30 minutes to avoid over-softening.
Preheat the grill fully for 10 minutes to ensure even cooking and char lines.
Brush extra glaze on during the final 2 minutes to avoid burned honey.
Adjust chili content in hot honey to control spice level.
