Description
A rich, one-pan American dish featuring chicken bathed in a glossy honey-garlic glaze. Soy sauce adds umami, butter lends depth, and fresh garlic ensures bold flavor, all achieved in 50 minutes with minimal effort.
Ingredients
Chicken breasts or thighs (1.5 lbs)
Honey (1/4 cup)
Garlic (6 cloves, minced)
Low-sodium soy sauce (1/3 cup)
Unsalted butter (2 tbsp)
Parsley (optional, 1 tbsp, finely chopped)
Instructions
Whisk soy sauce, minced garlic, and 2 tbsp honey in a bowl
Add chicken to marinade, mix thoroughly, and refrigerate for 15 minutes
Bring chicken to room temperature before cooking
Heat skillet over medium-high until butter shimmers
Sear chicken 5–6 minutes per side for golden crust
Set chicken aside on baking sheet to rest 5–10 minutes
Return drippings to skillet, add remaining honey and 2 cloves garlic
Cook 2–3 minutes to dissolve sugar and soften garlic
Whisk in soy sauce, reduce 3–4 minutes until thickened
Brush glaze over rested chicken and return to skillet to coat
Notes
Use tamari instead of soy sauce for gluten-free version
Opt for clarified butter to enhance heat resistance
Adjust garlic to taste; add ginger for extra warmth
For richer flavor, add a splash of rice vinegar
Serve with roasted vegetables for a complete meal
