Thick, herbed cream cheese sauce melds with tender chicken breasts in a slow cooker for an effortless, cheesy meal. Ideal for weeknights, this dish shines with ranch seasoning and adaptability for sandwiches or tacos.
Ingredients
Chicken breast, 2 lbs
Cream cheese, 8 oz (1 block, full-fat preferred)
Ranch seasoning, 1 packet (1.4 oz) or 1 1/2 tbsp
Garlic, 3 cloves, minced
Onion powder, 1 tsp
White vinegar, 2 tbsp
Green onions, 2, sliced (optional)
Instructions
Season chicken breasts with 1/2 the ranch seasoning and garlic.
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, remaining ranch seasoning, onion powder, vinegar, and 1/2 the green onions until smooth.
Spread the cream cheese mixture over the chicken in a crockpot.
Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours.
Remove chicken, shred with a fork, and mix with the warmed sauce. Garnish with remaining green onions if desired.
Notes
Use skinless chicken thighs for extra tenderness
Substitute ranch seasoning with homemade blend (1 tsp dill, parsley, chives, onion powder)
Mild apple cider vinegar works in place of white vinegar
Omit green onions or use chives
