Ingredients
1 large crusty bread bowl (hollowed out)
1 lb (450g) cooked, shredded chicken (grilled or baked white meat only)
1/2 cup (120ml) buffalo sauce (mild, medium, or hot as preferred)
1 1/2 cups (180g) shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup (60ml) mayonnaise
1 teaspoon ranch flavor seasoning (no alcohol, optional)
1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Select a large crusty bread bowl, such as sourdough or brioche.
Cut a lid shape from the top of the bread bowl to allow access to the interior.
Scoop out the center of the bowl, leaving a 1-inch thick crusty shell.
In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, mayonnaise, ranch flavor seasoning, and minced garlic. Mix well until fully combined.
Layer the shredded mozzarella cheese over the bottom of the bread bowl.
Fill the hollowed-out bread bowl with the buffalo chicken mixture, pressing it gently into place.
Replace the lid and place the bread bowl on a baking sheet.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bread bowl is golden and crisp.
Let the dish cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Buffalo sauce can be adjusted to personal heat preference. Serve with optional side ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping. Bread bowls are best made from fresh, firm loaves for stability and texture.
