Description
Tender, spiced chicken pieces marinated in garlicky yogurt, air-fried to golden perfection, and drenched in a rich butter sauce for a crispy, flavorful Indian-inspired snack or meal.
Ingredients
1.5 lbs chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
1/2 cup plain yogurt, preferably Greek for thickness
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika
Black pepper, to taste
4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted over finished bites
Pinch of salt (for butter sauce)
Optional: chili flakes (for butter sauce)
1 tbsp lemon juice (for butter sauce)
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together yogurt, minced garlic, turmeric, cumin, paprika, and black pepper. Add chicken cubes and toss to coat.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to 24 hours for maximum flavor).
Pat chicken dry with paper towels and place in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Air fry at 375°F for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway to ensure even browning.
In a saucepan, melt butter with a pinch of salt and optional chili flakes. Whisk in 1 tbsp lemon juice for brightness.
Pour butter sauce over hot chicken bites immediately before serving to let the fats emulsify.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate chicken for up to 24 hours.
Use Greek yogurt for a thicker, creamier marinade.
For optimal crispiness, pat chicken completely dry before air frying.
Do not overcrowd the air fryer; cook in batches if necessary.
Adjust spices to taste; add more paprika or cumin for a heartier flavor.
