Description

Mini turkey sandwiches baked with smoky tomato sauce, melted sharp cheddar, and tangy mayo-mustard sauce. These handheld, non-pork, smoky American sliders are perfect for festive gatherings with a golden, crisp finish.


Ingredients

Ground Turkey (1 lb / 450g, 93% lean)
Mini Hamburger Buns (6, brioche or whole wheat)
Cheddar Cheese (1 cup / 100g, shredded sharp)
Tomato Sauce (Simmered, 3/4 cup, thickened with cornstarch)
Mayo-Mustard Sauce (1/3 cup, 1:1 ratio)
Unsalted Butter (2 tbsp, clarified for richer flavor)
Salt (1/2 tsp)
Black Pepper (1/4 tsp)


Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine ground turkey with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper. Mix gently with hands until just combined.
Form mixture into six 1.5-inch thick patties using 3/4-cup portions each.
Place buns butter-side down on the baking sheet. Layer patties over buns.
Top each patty with 1 1/2 Tbsp smoky tomato sauce and 1 Tbsp shredded cheddar.
Drizzle mayo-mustard sauce over cheese before baking.
Bake for 20 minutes or until the turkey reaches 165°F (74°C). Rotate tray for even browning.
If needed, broil for 3–5 additional minutes until cheese melts and sauce bubbles.
Remove when golden and bubbling.


Notes

Chill turkey mixture for 30 minutes after mixing to prevent overhandling.
Use clarified butter for a firmer, caramelized crust.
Substitute brioche or whole wheat buns for different textures.
Chill assembled sliders 15 minutes pre-bake for neater presentation.
