Description

A vibrant, no-cook Italian salad showcasing fresh tomatoes, creamy burrata, and fragrant basil. Perfect as a summer appetizer or light meal, it balances tangy, sweet, and aromatic flavors for a fresh, satisfying dish.

Ingredients

Scale

1 ball burrata (200g)
2 cups tomatoes, heirloom preferred (or grape or cherry tomatoes)
1 cup fresh basil leaves, large
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon balsamic glaze (optional, replace with red wine vinegar if unavailable)
¼ teaspoon flaky sea salt
⅛ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

Wash tomatoes under running water and pat dry with paper towels.
Arrange tomato slices on a large serving platter or four individual plates.
Stack basil leaves on a cutting board and roll into a bundle. Slice thinly.
Scatter basil leaves over the tomatoes using your hands to avoid bruising them.
Top tomato layers with the burrata ball. Gently press to create a flat surface.
Drizzle olive oil evenly over the entire dish to enhance moisture.
Sprinkle flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
If using balsamic glaze, drizzle small amounts strategically across the platter.

Notes

Use room-temperature burrata for the best texture
Fresh basil is essential for aroma and flavor
The dish can be served as an appetizer or main with crusty bread or grilled vegetables
All ingredients should be at room temperature before assembly for the perfect balance of flavors
