Description
Crispy, juicy honey garlic chicken thighs made in the air fryer with minimal oil. A sweet and tangy Asian-American fusion dish that’s easy to make and bursting with flavor.
Ingredients
1.5 lbs chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
3 tbsp honey (use maple syrup for vegan option)
4 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
3 tbsp soy sauce, low-sodium preferred
1 tsp olive oil (avocado oil works best)
Instructions
Pat chicken thighs dry and season with salt and pepper.
In a bowl, mix together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and olive oil.
Coat the chicken thighs evenly with the glaze and let marinate for 10 minutes.
Arrange the chicken thighs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, cooking in batches if necessary.
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
Cook for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time.
During the last 2 minutes of cooking, baste the thighs with the remaining glaze until golden and crispy.
Notes
Patting the chicken dry ensures crispy skin.
Use parchment paper in the basket for easy cleanup.
For extra tang, add 1 tsp rice vinegar to the glaze.
Flip the chicken exactly halfway through cooking for even browning.
Avoid overcrowding the air fryer to maintain crispiness.
