Description
A quick, juicy, smoky dish made with minimal oil and bold flavors. Tender chicken breasts are coated in a mix of garlic, onion, and BBQ sauce, then air-fried to a caramelized, tangy finish. Ready in under 20 minutes.
Ingredients
4 (6-oz each) skinless, boneless chicken breasts
1/3 cup BBQ sauce (thick variety)
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Instructions
Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, and salt (optional).
Preheat air fryer to 375°F for 3-5 minutes. Lightly spray the basket with oil (optional for extra crisp).
Place chicken in a single layer. Cook 8-10 minutes, flipping once, until golden and 155°F in center.
Brush BBQ sauce evenly over both sides. Cook 4 more minutes at 350°F.
Let rest 5 minutes on a cutting board before slicing against the grain.
Notes
Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches 170°F internal temperature.
Don’t overcrowd the basket. Cook in batches if necessary.
Mix brown sugar directly into BBQ sauce for thicker caramelization.
Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
